More is different. One grain of sand cannot avalanche, but pile up enough grains of sand and you get adune that can trigger avalanches. Kevin Kelly, 1994.
The gravity and materiality of fine birch veneer piecesaccumulate inconsistent distortion. Approximately 2000 pieces of identicalprimitives are aggregated in the way of generating an ideal grid, with twotypes of minimal connection systems. Although, the aggregation process issimple, the elements of gravity and flexibility challenge the materiality ofthe birch veneer. Gravity causes the aggregation to sag while flexibility ofthe thinly cut birch veneer pieces allow for bending and twisting.  This behavior results in thepenetration and entanglement of the primitives while still possessing thequality of fragility and transparency. The cross section represents thedelicate untidiness mushroomed by ubiquitous physical agents.
